How it all began
PIPPO was founded by three friends who shared a passion for road cycling and enjoyed taking vacations to experience the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. During our travels, however, we noticed that there were hardly any brands in Europe that produced stylish and high-quality road cycling clothing in a sustainable and responsible way.
Especially on the climb to the legendary Alpe d'Huez and the 21 hairpin bends, we noticed that our jersey was not breathable and kept slipping. This made us wonder why there are so few brands that cater to the needs of road cyclists.
This question drove us and we started to search for a factory that met our requirements. We did research on different fabrics and materials such as polyamide and polyester and finally found the perfect solution. Our own apartment soon served as a warehouse, and so began our family adventure.
Emergence of the brand and Logo
PIPPO Amsterdam is a brand that combines quality, modernity and sustainability. With our figurative mark, we combine the compass with contemporary, nature-inspired shapes that are aligned with our target group. By adding a personal touch, we give our brand character and uniqueness.
How we choose our partners
When looking for the right partners, it was important for us to find good working conditions and that our partners work sustainably and have a high level of expertise in their field. Our socks are made in Sweden because we found a family business there that meets our ideas of high quality and good working conditions.
Our bib shorts and jerseys are made in Italy by factories that also produce for Tour de France teams. This allows us to draw on the expertise of many road cycling professionals. All the factories we work with are committed to reducing plastic consumption. That is why our products are shipped without plastic bags.
